Around 6 to 12 million children in the US get head lice every year. Adults are trying everything they can to get rid of these annoying insecticides. But, no matter what they do, they keep coming back. So, what should they do?
According to the owner of the head lice removal salon, The Lice Lady of Westchester in N.Y., Anna Albano-Krosche, the biggest problem with lice is that they have become resistant to many treatments. As a result, people should turn to natural remedies.
This way, they can heal the scalp and strengthen the hair.
What Are Head Lice?
Head lice are tiny parasitic insects that live on the scalp. They drink tiny amounts of blood to survive. Even though they are not bigger than a sesame seed, you can easily spot them in the hair. The bottom of your hair shaft is the perfect place for them to incubate their eggs.
These eggs look like dandruff, but they stay attached to the hair shaft. In addition, they grow with the hair. Furthermore, the itchiness comes from the live adult bugs that crawl on the skin. It is a reaction to the saliva of the bite.
Since anti-lice shampoos are quite expensive and not as effective, it can be a great idea to try this treatment. Besides, you won’t have to spend hours combing the hair. Instead, you can say ‘’goodbye’’ to lice with this amazing home remedy.
- White vinegar
- Lice Comb
- Plastic bag/shower cap
Start by rinsing the head with the mouthwash. Next, wrap the hair in a shower cap and let the mouthwash do the work for 1 hour. Lice hate the smell of spearmint. After that, rinse the hair with the vinegar to remove all the lice eggs.
Wrap the hair in the shower cap once again. Lastly, wash the hair with your favorite shampoo and comb it. Now your hair is completely lice-free. If these insecticides come back, make sure to repeat the process. After all, it contains no chemicals or side-effects like commercial products do.
